How We Work
As a self-funded company with no corporate hoops to jump through, we always make decisions based on what’s best for our users. This means paying close attention to our craftsmanship, getting creative with new ideas and spending the time on getting things just right.
We’re a small team competing with much larger ones. To outperform our competitors we need to make sure we work on the right things, at the right time and in a productive way. Removing distractions and enabling deep work is critical for this.
We want to reap the best benefits of working remotely (high levels of individual autonomy and longer stretches of deep work), combined with the benefits of being on-site together (casual brainstorming, productive in person meetings, and social connection with peers that share the same goals).
Goal Setting
Innovation is what drives us at Perigee, and we use a process called Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to help us bring our big ideas to life.
OKRs help us define goals on a quarterly and annual basis, and gives each team member the opportunity to contribute ideas to help us improve our apps.
We create challenging and ambitious objectives with measurable results. They give us an opportunity to push past barriers, learn new skills and rally together as a team to reach our goals.
How We Communicate
Collaboration is how we make our apps great, and we're proud of having friendly and bright team members who help each other grow.
We value the best benefits of working remotely, like high levels of individual autonomy and long stretches of deep work, combined with the benefits of being on-site like causal brainstorming and social connection.
This means that we communicate asynchronously most of the time, sharing important news in writing. In fact, meetings at Perigee are usually the last step, not the first!
Our Day To Day
Our day to day is collaborative and having a friendly, collaborative team helps us keep our process fast, effective and fun!
We focus on tasks with the highest impact for our users and we're fast to test them to see if they work. Continuously iterating helps us maintain a high bar for quality, producing best in class apps that delight millions.
Our day to day process is lean, and we prize learning as fast as possible. If we make mistakes we simply recalibrate and get back on track.
